Can Wiccans share magic with Pagans?

Is it ok for a Wiccan to learn things and practice spells and rituals and whatnot with a Pagan?

Finding a coven that works for you is essential and does not mean you have to have exactly the same belief systems as the other people in your coven. In short, it is perfectly okay to be Wiccan and practice with Pagans.

As I’m sure you know, Wiccans are like a specialized form of Pagans. Where Pagans could believe in any number of different dieties, Wiccans have have specified a belief in the Lord and Lady. So  long as you find Pagans with a similar belief structure, there is absolutely nothing wrong with practicing rituals or casting a circle with these friends.

When finding coven mates, you should start with a very frank discussion of your belief system and what you hope to gain through your association. it is important that everyone agree from the beginning what kind of restrictions will be in place for the coven and what will and won’t be okay. For example, will you be practicing skyclad rituals?

Discuss the naming of dieties in the rituals and how you will refer to various rites. Make sure before the high holy days what is going to be acceptable for everyone, instead of finding out in the middle of a circle that the Pagan who believes in Norse gods has a problem with your references to the Goddess as the bringer of life.

The key to successfully integrating different religious traditions in the same coven is communication and discussion. Be open and honest and it should work.
