Dear Rose, I am indeed a fan of charmed, and I will admit, the show is what gave me an interest in the craft. I am not one of those girls that is going to give you a long story about me thinking that I have a power that I used once, but I’m not so sure. No. I am simply someone who has always “pretended” to have magical powers since I was a little girl. It’s always just felt right to me that I should have a real power, considering how often I used to pretend I did. I truly feel as though I am gifted. I just have yet to discover my gift. I don’t know a lot about the real world of witches, and I’m not going to pretend like I do. I am just curious to know if you believe that I could acquire a magical power or if it’s just a far fetched fantasy of mine? Thanks for your time! Brooklyn.

Merry Meet Brooklyn. It is indeed a pleasure to meet you. You are correct in saying that the show “Charmed” created an interest in the Craft for many people, including you. It is nice to know that you do have an interest in finding out whether you are really gifted in the magickal sense. You seem to have a very balanced outlook on life. Yes, it is very useful to understand the powers within us. Most of us go through life not realizing how much potential we have, how creative we are and how useful we could be to the rest of humanity if only we tried. The simple fact is that all of us beings (and that includes human, animal and other spirits) are quite powerful. Yes, you too. We are born that way. We have the ability to see things and view things in a certain magickal way until our parents or others in our life tell us that we are imagining things. We are born with a natural ability to create – just with our thoughts! Amazing, isn’t it? Remember your childhood? Every flower, every breeze and every leaf were mesmerizing, intriguing and awe-inspiring. We didn’t need store-bought or expensive toys, just take us to the park and put us on the ground and what do we do? Play with the dirt, the insects, the leaves and even trash if we can. Everything is magickal to us at that stage. Likewise, our mind is also pure and innocent at that time. When our minds are still and focused on something, our thoughts can create magick. As we grow up, adults tell us that we need to think only of physical things such as books, pencils and clothes.. We forget the magickal world and grow up cynical and afraid of what the future holds for us. We even believe that we are powerless to change our destiny. This is the most depressing way to live life. However, Wicca and a few religions like Wicca understand that our magick never leaves us at any time. Regardless of the criticism we get for believing in ourselves and the magick of life, we have to persevere to inspire ourselves, to train our minds to be still and to enable the powers in us that will create our wishes. Brooklyn, it is time to believe that you have magickal powers which are at your disposal. Learn more on how to sharpen these powers, work with them and create the future you wish to have.
