can you become wiccan if you were not truly born into it?
Wicca is a religious practice, not soemthing you are born into. I suppose it is possible that people who have parents that are both Wiccan might claim to be born Wiccan, but it is much like being born Baptist: That may be the religion your parents chose, but that does not make you a Baptist. You have to choose it.
To become a Wiccan, you need to first research the Faith and learn the basic principals, often referred to as the Wiccan Rede. The basic principal of the Wiccan Rede is: It Harm None, Do What Thou Wilt.
What this means is that Wicca allows you to do whatever you want, as long as you aren’t hurting anyone else. This is the most important part of the faith. As long as you believe and act on this, you can learn from there.
From there, I would suggest you look around at Wiccan sites on line or via your local new age bookstore. It is important to read through the sites carefully and make certain that they follow the Rede. If the site does not mention the Rede or contradicts it in some way, find a different site. It is very important that you do your research carefully as a lot of people who claim to be Pagan or Wiccan have no idea what the faith is really about and are just looking for a way to practice magic.
Though magic is a part of the religion, it should not be the reason to study and follow the faith.
