We all have bad things happen, but I, am beginning to wonder if something has gone terribly wrong in my life. Jan of 2006 started off with my losing my job of 30 years (work force adjustment), my husband wrecking his jeep (we had just paid it off) almost killing him and totaling the vehicle.

I’ve been out of work for almost 6 months, nothing seems to be going right. Last but not least, my daughter-in-law takes my two grandchildren and leaves my son for someone else. and then of course not so tragic things such as having to replace the water heater (just before Yule), and then the washing machine goes out (not quite two years old), and then the TV in the living room needs repair (only two years old).

Can you help me with Magick?

There are times when everything seems to be going against us. Most times when I ve really stopped to take a look at something, it is just a lot of bad things happening at once. No greater force at work. I ve had several years where it was one thing after another for months. I made the mistake the first time of saying that things can t get any worse. Let s just say that I was very, very wrong.

So, after that time I learned to never say those words again. I felt like I was tempting fate to show me how much worse things could be. I figure that a simple spell for good luck can t hurt and a spell to expel the negativity in life would give you a nice start toward trying to improve things in your life. I ve included the details below. Do remember that spells and magick take time. Use these repeatedly and see if you feel yourself feeling more positive as time goes on.

A Japanese Spell for Luck

Japanese folklore says that placing pieces of bamboo around the threshold of your door attracts good luck to your home.

In the US, planting cabbage in your garden is said to achieve the same. If you cannot find bamboo, plant some canned bamboo shoots and some fresh cabbage leaves in the ground instead.

This will not hurt the soil, and will encourage the same type of energy. This is used for fortuity, serendipity, good fortune, fate, destiny and chance.

The best time is during daylight hours. Sunday. When the Moon is in Virgo or Pisces. The month of April and season of Spring.

A Token for Expulsion of Negativity

You will need:

pine needles

frankincense pieces

powdered cloves

lemon essential oil or extract

a small square of black cloth

a larger square of white cloth

black thread

white thread

Mix the powdered cloves and lemon essential oil or extract. Put a dab on your pulse points and chakras to allow for spiritual purification. Hold the black cloth in both hands, and visualize what you are trying to banish as a black slime that seeps out through your skin, through your pores, into the cloth. Once you feel the negativity has been expelled from your mind and body, set the black cloth aside, and pick up the white cloth.

Chant the following rite six times:

“This is the light of protection, the light of purity. As it covers the darkness, so it shelters me.”

As you chant, visualize a bright white light growing within the white cloth. Lay out the black cloth, and place the pine needles and frankincense on it. Use black thread to tie the cloth in a bundle, visualizing the black slime is safely contained inside. Lay the white cloth over this bundle, and use the white thread to tie the white cloth in a bundle, making sure no portion of black can be seen.

Carry this token with you to expel negativity wherever you are. This is generally used for expelling negative energies or spirits. The best time to cast is during the light of day, especially dawn, when light covers dark. The months of January, July and October. During a blue Moon, or when the Moon is in Aries, Gemini or Sagittarius. Also on your birthday, or dates with special meaning.
