How can I get better at practising Wicca

Dear Rose, I have been interested in Wicca for a while. I was raised Christian and never felt right about it. A couple months ago I started to get into Wicca until my parents found out and WENT OFF. Every day they would tell me how sacrilegious and dangerous it is.I didn’t believe them, but I had to stop research/reading/&actually trying at anything within the Wicca religion. All this time I have felt a sort of connection to it. Like it is who I am. But im scared. Im scared that one time I will mess up and hurt someone. Im scared even though I know this is what I want to do. I know this is what I want to do. So how do I start out?.Where do I go from here?. If you can give me any information about beginning spells out anything or just plain advice that would be GREAT. – scared of who I actally am (Caitlyn).

Merry Meet Caitlyn,

For almost a millennium, religious cruzaders have been at people’s throats trying to convince them that theirs is the only way. How can it be the only way when so many religions proclaim that same? The only way as the wise ones know is that of our heart and spirit, the way of Wicca and other pagan style religions which have not changed for greed or power.

When you become an adult, you may be able to practice whatever religion you wish to. For now, read more about Wicca through books available in all book stores and on the internet. Do not bother your parents about it becasue they really believe in a vengeful God who will destroy them and punish them in hell and all that. So let them be. You can use your brains to find out the best way to live in this beautiful world without fear hanging over our heads

Here are some suggestions for books that may help you understand the ancient and most peaceful way of life:
Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner (Includes Author’s Book of Shadows) by Scott Cunningham
Living Wicca: A Further Guide for the Solitary Practitioner (Llewellyn’s Practical Magick Series) by Scott Cunningham
Drawing Down the Moon: Witches, Druids, Goddess-Worshippers, and Other Pagans in America Today (Compass) by Margot Adler
The Element Encyclopedia of 5000 Spells: The Ultimate Reference Book for the Magical Arts by Judika Illes
Solitary Witch: The Ultimate Book of Shadows for the New Generation by Silver Ravenwolf
The Outer Temple of Witchcraft: Circles, Spells and Rituals (Penczak Temple Series) by Christopher Penczak

As you can see, there are many wonderful books out there for the public to read and learn about Wicca. You may also be able to go to spiritual upliftment fairs that are planned in various cities where you can meet others who share your interest in Wicca and Witchcraft.
Brightest Blessings
Rose.
