Merry meet! My name is Abigail, and I’m a adolescent witch. Im still (love this phrase!) ‘in the broom closet’ as in people don’t know I consider myself a witch. I have been studying Wicca in secret for 2 years now so I don’t think it’s just a phase and still love it like the day I first praticed it. I have my own book of shadows I hide which is filled with knowlage so I know a lot about the pratice. Im not ashamed of who I am, more of what people will think of me. I know paganisam is a misunderstood religion and the pratice is redeemed ‘strange’ to some people. I’m worried that if I decide to tell my parents they will stop me doing something I love. If it gets out around my school, then I don’t know what I’ll do. Please, what do you think I should do? Should I just keep this all to myself and hope no one catches me? Or Should I tell people I’m a witch? If so, how do I even begin to tell them? How do I get them to take me seriously? Thank you and Blessed be!

It is so wonderful to hear from you. It is amazing to know that you have been practicing Wicca for 2 years. Good for you. If you are not ready to share your good news with others, please take your time.
Many people do not understand the spiritual power that we gain when we study and practice Wicca. Most people are happy to sit in a pew once a week and listen to whatever a priest talks about. Unfortunately, most people are happy to live in a world of ignorance where they believe that they are so powerless and that only the clergy speak the truth. Unfortunately, many people have abused their privilages by putting down anything they don’t understand.
So my advice to you is to practice until you are an adult. Most countries allow a person to decide what they want to do with their life when they are about 18 or 19 years old. At that time, you can decide whether you need to share it with others. For now, it is perfect if you are enjoying life by practicing Wicca in the best way you can.
Only you can judge your life. Do not allow anyone to decide what you wish for your life. When you are an adult, you can explain to your parents and other relatives that there are many religions in the world and that you have chosen Wicca to follow through life. Although you may meet with people who are clueless about any religion but theirs, be patient. One day, you will be able to share your thoughts with like minded people so that you all can celebrate the beautiful, peaceful and ancient religion of Wicca.
