How does one become involved with Witchcraft?

how do i do witchcraft

Merry Meet Seeker!

The answer to your question is simply put, Knowledge. There are essentially three areas that you will need to cover to gain this Knowledge.

Firstly and fore mostly you need to understand what the Craft is all about. This covers the theology aspect.

Secondly, you need to understand what is expected from a Witch. This includes principles, conduct etc.

Thirdly and finally, you need to understand the disciplines of the craft. This involves studying the ‘how to’ aspects.

Please allow me to offer you a brief summary on each these areas. I will also point you to web sites and books that you may find helpful on your path.

  1. Theology of the Craft: The Craft is an earth- and nature based religion, where both Goddess and God are worshipped. Witches celebrate all Nature’s cycles in honor of Deity. These celebrations are referred to as Sabbaths and Esbaths. During these celebrations, witches pay tribute to Deity, commemorate the occasion and perform works of Magick. All Magick done, is positive and with harm to none.
  2. Living a Witch’s Life: Because Witches view all of Nature as a manifestation of the Divine, we treat fellow humans, animals, plants, stones and everything else in nature with consideration and respect. Witches live in Love and in Light as healers of the earth and all She contains.
  3. How to Training: Witches are trained. They study Nature and use natural forces to perform their healing Magick. In addition, witches are trained to perform rituals – from preparation until closing. Training can be obtained in one of three ways: By attending a Wicca 101 Course, by joining a coven or by self study.
