Know The Basics:
My first advice is do not dabble. Know what majick is. Know different ways to raise, focus and ground majickal energy. Know how to cast a majick circle. Know how to open a circle. Know the basic outline of a spell.
Know The Intent And Purpose:
Be sure that you know what are you trying to do. Are you trying to heal someone’s illness? Ease your depression? Increase your concentration? Bring love into your life? Celebrate a sabbat? Honor the Goddess? Before you begin have a firm understanding of the outcome you want. This can help prevent spells from having opposite repercussions from what was intended.
Know When To Cast The Spell:
Learn how the Moon phases can impact your majick.(See information below). What kind of spell should you cast during the waning Moon? The waxing Moon? Learn what day of the week will affect your workings, so you can plan the best timing of your spell. (See information below.)
Know Correspondences:
I’ve devoted an entire section to the different majickal properties of herbs, colors, elements and various other impacting factors. Learn about sympathetic majick and how it works. Learn what items you can include in your spell that will help you achieve your goal, not hinder the outcome.
Moon Phases
Waxing Moon
When: From 7 to 14 days after the new Moon
Properties: Constructive majick such as love, wealth, success, courage, friendship, luck or health.

Full Moon
When: From 14 to 17.5 days after the new Moon
Properties: Rituals for prophecy, protection, divination. Any working that needs extra power, such as help finding a new job or healings for serious conditions. Also love, knowledge, legal undertakings, money and dreams.
Waning Moon
When: From 3.5 to 10.5 days after the full Moon
Properties: Banishing, for ridding oneself of addictions, illness or negativity.

When: From 10.5 to 14 days after the full Moon
Properties: A time for dealing with attackers, for exploring our darkest recesses and understanding our angers and passions. Also bringing justice to fruition.
