I would like to know more about Wicca

Hi Rose I’ve been interested in Wicca for about 17 years but only really started now. I would like to know when and how do you do magick? Is there a certain time of the day, year, month that you have to do it in? How do you know if it’s the right spell? Which spells are safe to use and how do you write spells that really work? I live in South Africa and I live in a society that believes that Wicca is from the dark side.

Merry Meet Seeker,
The powerful and Earth based practice of witchcraft has been so maligned all over the world, that it is very difficult for anyone to say “I am a witch” in any country In almost every country. Fortunately for us, Wicca is growing very fast and now that it is an approved religion in the United States, it is acceptable in most states to profess our way of life.
In South Africa, it may take a while for everyone to accept the fact that Wicca is a loving, nature based religion that does not condone racism, violence or other negative traits. I hope you will be able, very soon, to practice this beautiful art without worry.
There is really nothing to learn in Wicca. It all depends on how strongly you feel about yourself, the people around you, animals, the Environment, etc. Wicca takes everything seriously. Nothing is unimportant. Everything has energy. So all you need is to protect and respect everything you see. The more you love the people and things around you, the more love you have in your heart and the more effective you will be.
Your instinct, your energy, your will power; all of it should be in tune when you practice Wicca. If you would like to start as a solitary practitioner, there are many books that will help you. Once you create your sacred space (internal and external), all you have to do is “go” to that sacred space and plan your future.
What you want may not be what another person wants. So be clear and succinct when you create your goals and try to meditate deeply in the process. Do not allow other thoughts to break your concentration.
The more you concentrate the more successful you will be.
The more you help others, the more benevolent you will be.
The more you believe in yourself, the more powerful you will be!
As you can see, it doesn’t matter when you start Wicca, it is the intent and the energy you put into this practice that makes you an amazing, powerful witch.
Hope this helps answer your question.
Brightest Blessings.
