Merry Meet Ann Marie, It is so wonderful to hear from you. Of course I do not delete any of your questions. I get so many of them that I have to choose only a few for which I an offer answers. So this time I selected your questions. Are you sure you didn’t work a spell to make this happen? So here goes: 1. How do you snuff a candle? Yes, a very good question indeed. Candles are sources of positive energy. The energy of the Sun is what we get from a flame. So putting out a flame by blowing on it is considered unmagickal. The best way to put out the candle is to hold something that is fire proof such as a piece of metal to extinguish the flame. There are many candle snuffers available on the market. Or you can use a spoon or some similar metal to move the candle wick back into the wax to snuff it. Remember to straighten the wick as soon as the flame is out. 2. I don’t have any space around my bath to put candles on them. Can you offer any alternatives? Candles cleanse the space with fire energy. If they are scented, they also cleanse the area with air energy. It is dangerous to use candles in small spaces. So I am happy to hear that you have been very smart about it and have not lit any candles around you bath. The alternative can be using incense sticks on a large holder (which will hold the ash and not allow it to fall on the floor or the carpet). You can keep incense sticks anywhere so long as you have something to hold the ash that falls from them. Remember, they do have fire energy and so you have to be extremely careful not to place them close to shower curtains, towels or anything flammable. The best way to get similar energy in a bathtub is to use petals or fresh flowers in the bath. Or aromatic soaps made by powerful herbs and spices. There are so many ways to make your bath time ritual powerful and healing. What is a taper candle? This one is easy. A candle that is shaped so that it the end tapers to a point is called a taper candle. You may have seen them at dinners or at holy places where they may be set on candle sticks.
