my boyfriend has just gone to join the royal marines, i really didnt want him to go, because i love him so much,but nothing i said would change his mind, what spell couldi do to protect him, when and if he gets put into war. ps i dnt want him to be hurt. ta bec x

Bright Blessings, Bec.  I am sending you a hug for being so very brave!  It is always hard when one we love does something that we believe will put them in harm’s way, but you were very wise to stop trying to dissuade your boyfriend from joining the Royal Marines.  We accept and encourage those whom we love.  I do not blame you for not wanting him to go, but this was obviously a step that he felt he needed to take in his life.

As far as spells go, there are many types of protection spells.  These spells are prevalent for many reasons, but primarily because they are entirely encompassed by the Rede and by the Rule of Three.  Protection Spells by their nature are beneficial to all, and are therefore in tune with the best of white magick.

Protection Spells can be simple or complex, and can include physical elements such as charms or amulets.  If I were you, I would make and give that young man an amulet or charm, then continue casting vocal protection spells until he comes home safely. 

When enchanting a charm or an amulet, it is important to be aware of the moon phase; this can make your amulet or charm that much more effective.  The same may be said of the vocal/verbal protection spells.  While it does no harm to cast during a weaker phase of the moon, the results will be far more effective if you pay attention to both the components of your amulet/charm, and to the moon.
