You can learn the craft from books, on the internet or from other Wiccas either online or in person. Many areas of the country have covens and you could visit these to see if you would fit into their group. Even if you cannot find a local coven right away, you can learn from books and online. I was amazed to find the wealth of online resources, question boards etc to help people learn.Â
Some suggested resources include:
For basic Wicca info, a simple Google search will bring up hundreds of possibilities. Many search results will include sites which sell supplies, but there are plenty of sites which are packed with free information. A few of these include:
www.corruptedcauldron.com
www.religioustolerance.org
www.witchvox.com
www.wicca.com
http://www.glasstemple.com/
http://www.spiritonline.com/links/Wicca/
There are covens in many areas. Below are some web pages which could help you locate local resources:

http://www.wiccancovens.com/
http://www.wiccandirectory.com/
http://www.wiccansolitaries.com/
There are also many, many books on the subject. I would suggest Book of Shadows which is recommended by many people. I just bought The Witch in Every Woman and am looking forward to reading it. When you consider a book, it is great to go to Amazon.com and read the reviews. Not the info at the top of the page since the author and publisher supply that, but the info further down the page where readers give their thoughts.
When you find people locally, visit and be sure you are comfortable with them. If you aren t comfortable, it is better to keep looking for another group. Also, many WIccans practice on their own and this might be best for you, at least for a time. I ve heard good things about:
Solitary Wicca for Life: Complete Guide to Mastering the Craft on Your Own by Arin Murphy-Hiscock, Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practioner by Scott Cunningham, Wicca for One: The Path of Solitary Witchcraft by Raymond Buckland and Living Wicca: A Further Guide for the Solitary Practioner by Scott Cunningham. Each of these books is rated at least 4 stars, by the readers.
