I’ve heard that magic comes back at you. So, if you did something to hurt someone, it would hurt you to? So, is that a way to tell if something that happened to you is magic?

I’m not sure that I understand your question completely, but I’ll do my best to answer it.

Yes indeed, your magick “comes back to you”, but not necessarily in the way you might think.  Wiccans believe in two major tenets:  the Wiccan Rede, and The Rule of Three.  The Rede says, “If it harms none, do what you will.”  This means that, before you take ANY action, magickal or otherwise, you really need to think through all the possible consequences of your actions.  If anyone (including yourself!) would be harmed by the action, then don’t do it.  Simple as that. 

Likewise, the Rule of Three reinforces that way of thinking and viewing the Universe.  “All good that you do, three times returns to you.  All harm that you do, three times returns too.”  So…if you have considered an action or a spell…and then decide to go ahead with the action (or go ahead and cast the spell) then you may expect the results to return to you three-fold.  This idea is not unique to Wicca; we’ve all heard “What goes around, comes around” and the Christian bible says, “Cast your bread upon the waters, and it will return to you.”  What I believe IS unique to Wicca is the idea of the three-fold return.  This is an excellent return on your investment, if the principle which you sent out is positive.  Bummer if it’s negative.

So…this is where your question becomes a little murky to me.  Are you saying that you’ve sent out negative energy in a spell, and now you are reaping what you’ve sown?  Or do you feel that you’ve been hit with “bad luck”, but someone you know is having three times worse luck?  If you’ve sent out grey or black magick, there is really nothing you can do to avert the consequences.  You must merely wait it out, and then purge yourself of the negative energy.  (As well as hopefully never do this again!)  If you feel that something negative, like a curse, has been placed upon you by another, then you need to stop helping it to work.  Curses, like magick, work best when there is faith and belief.  Surround yourself with positive energy.  Do a cleansing ritual, and then a good spell for protection.  And believe.
